Joe McCain Leaves Campaign of brother John

According to the AP report brother Joe called 911 to complain about excessive bridge traffic at 1:30 a.m. The 911 operator asked him to state his emergency. Since he didn't have one he wound up hanging up after cursing at her (he claims he wasn't cursing her). This action followed previous gaffs resulting in Joe leaving the campaign. He admits that he has a temper and that short-tempered John will be upset when he finds out about Joe's latest screw up. It seems to me that this report is typical of the press and other media coverage that pays more attention to inane activities that have nothing to do with how McCain (and Obama for that matter) will perform in office or the facts about policies that either candidate is advocating. You really need to search hard and long to find head to head comparisons of candidate policies, etc.

First Thoughts

The ultimate insanity of election-campaign noise has set off a pattern of thinking in my mind that the mainstream media has no idea of Truth. The only Sanity in an insane world seems to come from satirization. But how can "satire" (i.e. Palin) really be satirized. Here Reality is less Real than Satire; here the "fake news" is more Real in its analysis than supposed fact-based news. Is the jester the only one that can hold the mirror of Truth up to false leaders? In all this Contemporary Insanity the only Sense comes from Absurdity and we are all surrounded by: Conventional Stupidity.
